Introducing: Speed Pitching Special for International Podcast Month Only
You have 30 days to sign up!
It’s Friday! And as the August winds turn slightly cooler, I am excited we are one week closer to Fall. Pumpkin spice everything, anyone?
Before we get into our usual sections, Lauren has a special announcement to make —
⏲️ Say hello to speed pitching!
If you’re familiar with Tink, you know that Arielle and I offer Podcast Therapy to anyone who wants feedback on their podcast, help developing or launching a show, insight into the podcast industry, or help building a marketing campaign perfect for their show.
To celebrate International Podcast Month, we’re doing something special—offering a new service we call Speed Pitching, where we spend one hour flying through our rolodex to pitch you to as many people as we can, with the hopes of quick-booking you on podcasts to talk about your work. Speed Pitching is an add-on to Podcast Therapy. Here’s how it works:
You’ll spend one hour with us in a typical Podcast Therapy session (although no Podcast Therapy sessions are typical.)
Then, you turn off your Zoom (we stay on!) as we write up quick marketing materials and get pitching.
When we get a hit, we loop you in and you take it from there.
We tried this out with Steffi Hill of Psychic Scoop with Spirit Sis, a deep dive exploration on all things spiritual. It went so well we want to offer it to everyone this month. Below, is everything we accomplished for Steffi in about 50 minutes (we spent the first ten minutes going over our notes from the first session and inventing Speed Pitching.)

Remember…this is stuff we got a bite on and passed to Steffi. It’s up to her now to see things through. And more stuff might come in. Who knows! (Maybe Steffi, she’s a psychic.)
Here’s what Steffi had to say about the experience:
On the Podcast Therapy call, Lauren and her team (Arielle and Devin) had the ability to understand the true essence and intent of my show. Their keen intuitive insights and thorough analysis of my podcast provided a fresh and innovative perspective on my content. It was a much-needed dose of creative oxygen that revitalized my whole approach and birthed new life into my episodes! As a result, my show got highlighted on a variety of platforms, promotional swaps were facilitated, and I was booked on several podcasts with large audiences. The result of their work and networking speaks for itself: before Tink I was averaging 8-9k downloads a month and since our session last month it skyrocketed to 26k! Not to mention I've received heartwarming feedback and lots of love from newfound listeners and fans. When I reflect on this journey, I am reminded of the power of collaboration and the magic that can happen when passionate women unite!
For the month of September, people who sign up for one hour of Podcast Therapy can opt for the 1-hour Speed Pitching add-on for an additional $400.
This is a great option for anyone who can’t commit to a full campaign but wants to test the waters and see what they can get with one hour of our time.

We’ve mentioned asking for feedback but now it’s time to get intentional about responding to it too. Dig into comments on social media posts and reviews on listener apps to engage with your listeners.
If you’re new here, read the previous weeks’ tips to start implementing them at your own pace.

We’re welcoming reader questions on podcast marketing and PR. If you have any, you can just fill out this form. There are no stupid questions!
Question: When do I start monetizing my podcast?
Anne (they/them): You should start monetizing your podcast as soon as you’re able to! This can be through crowdfunding, monthly subscriptions using services like Patreon, or selling advertising space on your show. The method you use will depend on your production process, the type of show you’re creating, and the cost to make your podcast—but when it comes down to it, you deserve to be compensated for your work and you should start right away!
✨More Magic

Strike Force Five is a new podcast with a noble goal. Late night talk show hosts Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver (whew) are all hosting this podcast to talk about late night television. The noble part? All proceeds go to support their out of work staffs.
Substack has introduced new subscription tools for audio. Yay!
