๐ Soooo, donโt know if you heard but we won Quillโs Best Podcast PR Company award! ๐ Woot. What an absolute honor!
Tink couldnโt have done it without the team of super talented individuals Tinkerers that make up this team.
Today, we hear from all of them on their one ride or die podcast PR/marketing commandment!
But, first.
Weโve recently published a plethora of past interviews with our podcast heroes on our website. Check them out!
๐ค The Tink Podcast Commandments
โจ Aakshi Sinha (she/her):
Thou shalt find a podcast release schedule that works for you and try your best to stick with it. But when life happens as it does, you will let your listeners know honestly why you might need to change it. Consistency is great, but transparency will help strengthen your relationship with your listeners.ย
Follow Aakshi on Twitter.
โจ Andreea Coscai (she/her):
Engage with your listeners by encouraging feedback, comments, reviews, storytelling voicemails! Make it a community for your audience to share their stories and feel like they are a part of your show.
Connect with Andreea on LinkedIn.
โจ Anne Baird (they/them):
Thou shalt research the name of their podcast before deciding on the final name. Make sure you pick something unique that people will remember (and that isn't already in use for another show!).
Say hello to Anne on Twitter.
โจ Arielle Nissenblatt (she/her):
When posting on social media to promote oneโs podcast, thou shall give more than one expects to receive. This is to say: for every self-promotional post you share, commit to sending 5 posts pumpingย someone else up!
Find Arielle on Twitter.
โจ Devin Andrade (she/her):
Thou shalt make it simple and easy for anyone to check out your podcast any time youโre sharing it. If youโre emailing someone about it, posting on social media, or writing a newsletter about it, include a link to the showโs website or use Pod.link. The fewer the clicks needed the better, so donโt assume that everyone listens on Apple. Thou shalt also apply that to transcripts! Make them easy to find, always.
Say hello to Devin on Twitter.
โจ Fay Mickens (she/her):
Thou shalt add links to your metadata AND maybe a few hidden gems for those that want to learn more about your topic. Use the metadata to your advantage! Writing out the metadata is one of the most grueling parts of the process.ย However, once your listeners press play, you have a captive audience that wants to interact with you! This is also a great place to tell your community where to find you (outside of their listening platform). Letโs link up!ย ย ย
Connect with Fay on LinkedIn.
โจ Holly Brown (she/her):
Thou shalt take time to get to know your audience. No matter how small your fanbase is, their opinions are pure gold! Connect with them through surveys, emails, or dms and come prepared with questions about your show. People LOVE giving their opinions.
Follow Holly on Twitter and/or check out her Instagram.
โจ Lauren Passell (she/her):
Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seedโset aside one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. What Iโm trying to say is, spend 10% of your time and resources giving back. It will return in multitudes.ย
Say hi to Lauren on Twitter.
โจ Shreya Sharma (she/her):
Thou shalt love thine heroes. This is to say โ listen to the credits of your favourite podcasts and shout the creators out on social media.
Send me love and podcast recs on Twitter.
โจ And to make it the holy number ten, hereโs one from all of us at Tink:
Thou shalt pass the mic, ensuring diverse voices are heard.
Thank you for reading and supporting!
