Great tips as always! RE. telling your listeners, I once published a piece about how much it costs to create the average episode, and why this makes it important to support your favourite podcaster (not necessarily financially, but supporting nonetheless).

I received a few emails that said they had no idea that's what was involved, and received some new premium memberships as well as donations from that piece.

Like you say, listeners rarely know and are happy to support once they do.

Happy upcoming 2024!

Hi I love this post, so much good advice. Also timely because I am 2 weeks away from launching series 2 of my podcast! I really agree with the idea of collaborating. In December I reached out to 3 other planty podcasters and asked whether theyโ€™d like to be a part of an episode which I called Our Plant Stories and friends. We all picked some favourite moments from the past years podcasting and I wove them into an episode, including a chat with each podcaster about their podcast. It was so good to get that chance to chat to 3 other women who are podcasting about plants and weโ€™re going to catch up with each other again in the New Year, just to chat about what we do. It was also great to be able to say to my listeners - if you like plant stories you are really going to enjoy these other plant podcasts.

Hope you donโ€™t mind me sharing the link in case others in different fields think it might work for them and want to listen to see if they might do it.

These are great INs and OUTs, very helpful! I'm a little late to reading this issue but it was incredibly helpful. Thanks for putting this together Lauren and Arielle.

Awesome tips, definitely going to be using some of these (maybe all of them but you know, start with one).

I'm working on promoting my new season more than three weeks in advance :D I'm much better with in-season marketing but this has given me a nice kick in the pants. A great list! *Muted airhorn noises*
