Well done! I do agree on all levels. Having published a show I'm super duper proud of in the True Crime space - I particularly loved this: "Unethical or gossip-minded true crime." - We spent almost 2 years making Nobody Should Believe Me with a woman who's family was torn apart by medical child abuse. We could have very well spent a lot less time and money (quite honestly) just retelling a case (Hope Ybarra) we cover in the show but instead we went super deep and told a story over 8 episodes that is rich with research, the foremost experts on the topic and we fact checked upon fact checked everything we did. I share this not for self-promotion but more because I get so annoyed by lazy and sensational work in the true crime category. Anywho - great list of other stuff too - that one just struck me!
OHHHHH - Niche podcast newsletters -- (yes it's 190+ days into the year and I'm now reading this --) I am a very new podcaster in the adult adoptee/NPE space...and I would love to learn more about ways to highlight all of us -- there are a ton. Tips? Ideas? Help?!
I totally thought adding a video content strategy into your live podcast would be a no-brainer for 'in's' of 2023. 🤷 I'm surprised that you do not mention a video of the podcast as being a great way to provide insights, behind-the-scenes, to humanise guests, offer raw footage etc etc. This is great content when 'video is king' to have regardless of its usage. It's content that can be used on sites, across social, advertising and so on. I'm expecting the front runners to capitalise here, if not I see opportunity for growth. 💰

It's always fun to review yearly predictions at the end of that year. Everything here has held up!

Great tips! Thanks for helping us get better at our craft of podcasting.
Great recommendations. Thanks!

I've got lots of thoughts on video and how it can (and cannot) be helpful for podcast promotion. You can read about them — and other perspectives — here: https://blog.pacific-content.com/2023-podcast-industry-forecast-4a3f2ad14779
